HYPERTEXTILE project took place in 2024 at Cortex Frontal Art Residency in Arraiolos, Portugal. It is a cycle of thematic artist residencies aimed at visual artists and designers interested in learning or deepening their knowledge of Embroidery, Weaving, Dyeing, Textile Stamping, Guimarães Embroidery, or Weaving.
Athanasia Karampela was selected for the Embroidery team with seminars and works based, among others, on the Arraiolos embroidery stitch, which has been used in the famous Arraiolos tapestry since the Middle Ages.
A selection of works will be exhibited in a traveling exhibition in Beja and Guimarães curated by Antonia Gaeta.
