The exhibition "Trace of a Needle" brings together women artists from Itea, Greece and the surrounding region, whose diverse backgrounds and generations converge through a shared language of expression: embroidery.

The stitch functions as an independent artistic medium that narrates, symbolizes, comments on, and transforms fabric into a vessel of memory, poetry, and personal experience. The exhibited works range from traditional Greek embroidery to contemporary textile art, featuring wall-mounted compositions, quilts, installations, and embroidery on unconventional materials. Here, the stitch transcends its decorative role, revealing the continuity of an art form that continues to evolve while remaining deeply connected to its roots.

Despite their different artistic approaches, all participating artists share a profound respect for the craftsmanship of tradition and the values it embodies. Simplicity, innocence, elegance of form, the patience of handmade creation, and a deep relationship with nature are presented not as relics of the past, but as living qualities that continue to inspire contemporary artistic practice.

Rather than opposing the old and the new, the exhibition proposes a quiet dialogue between generations of women who have held the needle in their hands, preserving an art that continues to weave connections between yesterday and today.
