'Till Otherness be swallowed up in Unity'

 Prints on paper

2015 - 2017

Symbols always carry a myth within them. They entail human beliefs. Since the early civilizations, different cultures have developed without being aware of each other's existence. However, they all expressed themselves with symbols, based on the same innermost human perceptions and needs.

This variety of external forms seems to be 'swallowed up' in greater unity. Detached from time or space, mythical figures from around the world seem to have put their stamp on eternity, no matter when or where they first appeared.

In a serial arrangement, as if parts of a temple's frieze, these symbols lose their initial meaning and therefore become independent from the reality they seek to represent.
